Early Summer Fun

The last two weeks of May have brought some early summer fun - swimming, picnics, and fishing.  Enjoy the slideshow!  The swimming is an everyday thing now (sometimes twice a day), we had two picnics (one for MOPS and one for preschool) and we met Daddy and Papa at a private lake to try some fishing.  The girls "caught" one and got to hold it!  They were so excited and loved holding it - even Delilah tried taking the hook off but Papa did so she wouldn't hurt herself.

Back Home in Cali

Mother's Day was a wonderful 4 1/2 hour flight home to SF and then drive home.  At least we got home early enough for a wonderful bath!!  Delilah thought she was a movie star with her princess glasses!

Our Trip To Atlanta - Day 4 - Tia's Wedding!

It was finally here - the day the girls had been waiting for. Because they chose not to go to sleep early the night before, I had Michael cancel their hair appointments - which meant I would be the beautician for the day. Michael got all dressed up in his tux while I was straightening and primping their hair. After we were all ready, I took the girls to the manor while Michael went with the men in the man van. Melissa (Tia) looked absolutely beautiful and even glowed through all the humidity! The wedding was gorgeous but the girls and I couldn't stay past the first few dances of the bride, groom and the parents. We had to get going as Caitlin was so tired and Delilah wanted to go back to the hotel too. Of course, Mikayla wanted to hang out but I needed to get her back to bathe her and pack for our early morning flight on Sunday.

The girls after patiently sitting there as I straighten their hair.  Sad thing was, I did Mikayla's first and because of the humidity, it started curling up already!

All of us girls on the way out to the wedding.
Nana with Caitlin.
The family before all the festivities started.
Melissa filling the part of the beautiful bride quite well!

I absolutely LOVE this picture.  This was before everyone walks down the aisle.  Poor Caitlin was already wanting to go to sleep.
So - here it was - time to walk down the aisle.  The girls were going - Caitlin was even going.  But if you see towards the middle, above Mikayla, the ringbearer started to come back.  That triggered Caitlin's mind to wonder "Where is mommy?" and within seconds of taking the picture and sneaking by her on the grass, she turned around to try and find me.  So I swooped her up in my arms and went around the outside to the front to sit down with one of the flower girls in my arms.  The other two - just kind of skipped/walked down the aisle laughing with each other.  We had told them that if Caitlin broke free from them, to just keep walking with their kissing balls in their hands.

Watching the bride come down the aisle.
Tia and Uncle DI jumping the broom while music was blasting (as you can tell - it was too loud for Mikayla's taste!)
Daddy waiting for his turn to walk down the aisle (with the flower girls in the background - already making down the aisle and back around)
Now it's Daddy's turn - looking handsome as ever!!
Before the girls and I left, we were able to watch the two new families dance together!
The girls finishing up the night - looking out the window of the hotel room, yet again!

Our Trip To Atlanta - Day 3

Today started off by getting ready and heading off to Tia's wedding rehearsal.  As like the day before, breakfast was obsolete and went straight for lunch (as they didn't go to sleep till 2 am the night before).  It was another wonderfully hot and humid day in Atlanta - the sad thing was it was in the 80's but still felt way hotter.  After the rehearsal, we headed to the rehearsal dinner where Caitlin couldn't hang on too long and Delilah was ready to go - so Mommy and the three girls headed back to the hotel for a swim before Daddy got home from dinner.  This night - I actually thought I was doing good.  I had got Mikayla AND Caitlin down at 10 pm.  Delilah was still fighting it and fighting it and fighting it... and with the help of fire trucks, police sirens and Delilah snorting very loudly, all three girls were awake at midnight and hungry as ever - so we went scavenging for food from Nana and Papa's room.

Mikayla, Caitlin, and Delilah at the wedding rehearsal
Caitlin running around during some down time.  The location for the wedding was GORGEOUS.  Called Glendalough Manor.
Us girls playing with the cam, after being hot and sweaty and getting ready to go jump in the pool!
By the way, we were staying at the Westin downtown - and on the 62nd floor.  The girls LOVED the view!!  We didn't even need to bring any toys - they just stared out and watched everything.

Our Trip To Atlanta - Day 2

The next morning we finally woke up at 10:30 am. Got dressed. Headed down the street to the Georgia Aquarium and Centennial Park.

Delilah, Caitlin, and Daddy playing at the fountains in the hot heat at Centennial Park
All three girls tried to touch the stingrays but Caitlin was so focused on just splashing the water.
The girls giving love to the aquarium mascot
This was cool - we were taking a picture on one side of an aquarium tank and Mikayla, Papa, and Delilah were on the other side.
Girls fascinated with the alligators.
Daddy, Caitlin, Mikayla, Delilah, and Papa - taking a photo break.
The underside of some huge catfish swimming above us.
Two Beluga whales
Okay - so here is a hilarious story and I wish that Michael had videotaped it!  We were standing in this window looking at the ocean aquarium.  A very ugly fish swam by about 4 feet away.  We all kept saying how ugly it was.... and out of no where.....
It came from the top left of the window and literally scared the girls - they all screamed very loud!  Below is the very ugly fish!
Walking through the ocean tunnel.
Delilah gets up close and personal with the shark.
Checking out the size of another ugly fish.
Mikayla, Papa, Delilah, Mommy, and Caitlin taking another photo break.
Big ol' shark.
This was one of the hugest windows we have seen - looking into the ocean aquarium
After the aquarium, we brought the girls back to the hotel - went swimming in the pool, then Caitlin took a nap while waiting for Daddy to get back from getting his tux with Papa.  After, we went downstairs to wait for Tia to go see her house.  While waiting, the girls were getting their exercise on - running around in an open area in the hotel (and no. we didn't go into one of the ballrooms).

Caitlin running around.
Okay - so we were having a blast videotaping these girls running around - here are just two of the videos ending in the same outcome for Delilah - poor thing!!

Our Trip To Atlanta - Day 1

Wednesday morning, we packed up the car and heading to San Francisco airport.  Timing was perfect.  We had gotten up to the gate with just 20 minutes before flight so we wouldn't have to sit around so long - and then it was announced... our flight was one hour delayed.  Ugh!  But the girls did good.  They even got to meet Chicco - the bomb sniffing dog.  Very cute dog!!

Once we took off (which wasn't fast enough for Delilah), the girls LOVED it.  They enjoyed seeing the crop circles when we flew over the middle of nowhere.  They saw the Rockies and that was about it till we got to Atlanta and the sun was setting.  Caitlin was awake the first hour and the last hour and slept the rest - so that was perfect!!

We finally go to Atlanta at 10:30 pm  and by the time we got our luggage, rental car and got to the hotel, unpacked, relaxed and got the girls calmed down - I think it was around 3 - 4 am when everyone finally fell asleep!  Remember, we were still on PST and the girls took a nap on the plane too.

Events Leading Up to Leaving for Atlanta

On Saturday, May 2, Mommy walked with her friend, Patty, the American River Half-Marathon.  Last year, mommy and Patty walked the 13.1 miles in 3 hours and 12 minutes (give or take a few).  This year, Patty was pushed and pulled as she told Mommy she wanted to finish around 3 hours - a new goal for her - and they did!!  3 hours and 1 minute!!  They walked 13:50 minute miles.  And we were there to see them finish (well kind of).  Daddy kept texting mommy to see where she was and mommy relayed her status - but thought because it was raining (yes - mommy walked in the rain!!) she didn't think daddy was crazy enough to bring us out into it.  But he was crazy!  And we sat at the finish line, waiting... and waiting... and then Daddy got a call from mommy saying she is done and on her way home and he said "Where are you??" We had been waiting at the finish line for the runners - not the walkers.  There are two courses to keep the walkers TRUE to walking (however, mommy described her frustrations about how some walkers still ran which skewed the outcomes of course).  However, Mommy was still so excited to see us and we got to play with her medal... and on top of that - Mommy placed 3rd in her age group and gets another medal.  She wasn't even expecting that.  YEAH!!

Caitlin - tired from waiting for mommy - plopped on bed with Popcorn.

Caitlin saying goodbye to Popcorn on Tuesday night (Popcorn became best friends with one of Mike's friend's dog - so she stayed with them)

It's May Day

We haven't been blogging for a while since my sweet little baby possibly threw away my charger.  Caitlin is in a "nesting" mode and cleans up a lot - even stuff that shouldn't be cleaned up... and I have caught a few things going in the trash can and fear that I didn't catch my charger.  So needless to say, my battery could not be recharged on my digital camera to take pictures.  But we have still been enjoying April.  It was nice and warm for a good week and the girls enjoyed swimming every day.  They have their new custom earplugs to protect water from getting in their ears when they swim.  Caitlin would be in the pool/bathtub all day long if she was the boss.  She finds her way to the toilet, the sink, even Popcorns water bowl - just to play in the water.

Other than that, nothing else going on.  Getting ready for Tia's (Melissa's) wedding to Demetrius.  We leave Wednesday and her wedding is on Saturday.  It is going to be beautiful (and muggy!) and is in Atlanta.  So we hope to have lots of pictures to bring back.

Below is a montage of pictures throughout the past two weeks.  Just hanging out in the house, playing in the backyard, having friends over for swimming, playing with Popcorn and going to Fairytale Town.  Enjoy and happy May! (and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!)
