Slip N Slide

It was a hot Saturday and after our chubby lil' firecracker woke up from her nap, we headed down to our friends down the street with our slip and slide and played in their backyard.  Mommy showed the girls how it was done, of course with normal clothes on (but daddy didn't have the camera ready for that!!!)  It was a nice way to cool off after a long hot 100 degree day.

Our Little Chunky Monkey

I had to take Caitlin to the doctor this morning to get some skin things checked out. Can I tell you how awesome my girls' doctor is?!! We have had him since Mikayla and Delilah turned 1 years old and he is the best, most caring, and most concerned doctor I have seen. He won't hesitate to let me know when I am being a paranoid mom but at the same time, if there is any question about a symptom or something going on, he doesn't push it aside either. So last night after talking to him about Caitlin's spots popping up on her arms and legs, he said he would like to see her first thing in the morning. These spots are called Cafe Au Laits - sometimes they go away, sometimes more come. If more continue to come, he wants to see her back but as of right now, he is not too concerned. (Maybe it is all the coffee?!!) hee hee So she got weighed - and she was 18.89 pounds!! Can you believe that?! Well, if you take a look at the picture below, you probably will believe it. But Mikayla and Delilah weren't 18 + pounds till they were one year old.
Mikayla and Delilah - almost 1 year old (of course not adjusted) - and about 17 lbs.
Caitlin - not even 5 1/2 months old - look at those chunky thighs - makes you wanna just eat them!!
Another picture of Mikayla and Delilah from their 1st Christmas - look at their thighs - not quite as big.  :-)

Father's Day Weekend

Father's Day fell on both Saturday and Sunday since we wouldn't be home on Sunday.  We were invited to our friends' cabin for the weekend so we made breakfast for daddy on Saturday and then later that afternoon, headed up to Nevada City to spend time with the Newsom clan.

The weekend was a whirlwind but it was so beautiful up in the mountains.  Of course, their cabin is absolutely beautiful and inviting.  It was a little too "woodsy" for Mikayla.  Her and Delilah went down to play with the Newsom kids on the trampoline at the cabin and next thing we hear is blood-curling screams.  Thinking Mikayla fell off the trampoline or a bear was in front of them, we ran to the deck to see what wrong.  She had a BUG on her!!!  Then the poor princess got her leg scratched up by plants walking down the hill to swing on the rope swing that Steve hung up.  She said if she comes up to the cabin again, she will stay inside!! :-)  We told her that we will come better prepared with better shoes as well as pants so plants don't scratch her up.

What is the beautiful outdoors?  We got leapster and nintendo!!
Michael and Steve "sharing" their Shrimp Alexander that they made together.  (Look at the beautiful background scenery - sorry - I never actually took a picture of the beautiful view)
Look it's Supergirl!  Oh no - that is just Delilah swinging like Tarzan
Michael and Popcorn, just taking it all in.
Yes - Popcorn actually came with us - she was so awesome up there - never ran away and loved playing with Gwen.  Thank you Steve and Laura for letting us bring her!

Honoring Thy Father

The girls' preschool did a breakfast for the dads in honor of Father's Day.  They had donuts and fruit.  The girls loved their breakfast.  Then they presented the dads with some "gifts".  Among the gifts were "All About My Dad" questionnaires that the girls were asked earlier in the week.  Look below to see some of the responses.

MIKAYLA'S ANSWERS
My Dad is fantastic because he's handsome.
My Dad's favorite song is all different songs.
My Dad looks like a million dollars when he wears a shirt and pants.
This is what he does all day "He tells us to pick up sticks and the white things." (not sure what she is talking about)
If my Dad could be anything he wanted, he'd be a driver and a mom.  (LOVE IT!!)
This is what my Dad always says to me "We can go in the backyard in a little bit."
My Dad's favorite food is spaghetti (not really - Daddy just makes that for the rest of the family)

DELILAH'S ANSWERS
My Dad is fantastic because he makes chicken.  (shocker!!)
My Dad's favorite song is at church.
My Dad looks like a million dollars when he wears a shirt.
This is what he does all day: He works.
If my Dad could be anything he wanted, he'd be a driver.
This is what my Dad always says to me: "Yes Ma'am!"
My Dad's favorite food is enchilada's (Yet another thing he makes for the family that really isn't his favorite).

Grandma Came To Town

Grandma was supposed to come visit the new baby back in January after Caitlin was born - but she had a bad fall on ice the night before.  She was able to come now - which probably was more fun for her since Caitlin is very entertaining now.

While she was here, we took the girls to Fairytale Town, went swimming, and went to look at manufactured homes (which were nothing like she expected - especially with master bedrooms and kitchens bigger than our own homes!!)

When Mikayla was asked "What are you pointing at?" She said "Pointing up to the Lord!"
