Scare Tactics

Daddy came home from work and the girls didn't realize it... so he wanted to scare them. Poor Mikayla - I really think she was frozen with fear!

Last Day of MOPS

So today was the last day of MOPS for this year. Towards the end of our meeting, we were welcomed by some entertainment of the 3-5 year olds (which of course Mikayla and Delilah were part of). Although, Mikayla is not singing, I am very proud of her for standing up there the entire time. Some of you may remember, at Christmas time, she ran to me crying and didn't even go up on stage. So it has been a huge improvement for her!!

Laughing Talking Giggling

Nana and Papa Visit

Over Memorial Day weekend, Nana and Papa drove up to spend time with their granddaughters. The weather wasn't the best so we hung around the house the entire weekend but the girls loved being hugged, tickled, and loved by their Nana and Papa.

Caught Myself A Baby Bumblebee

Today was the girls' picnic in the park for preschool. So all us girls headed to the park with a picnic basket full of yummies. Before the kids were sent off to play, the teachers got them together to sing a couple of songs they learned as well as recite some scriptures. Below is a video of them singing one of the songs.

Happy Mother's Day

Of course, I woke up before all other creatures and people in the house this morning because Caitlin was being fussy in her crib (which by the way she is now sleeping in all by herself... she has had a good transition from the co-sleeper to her crib in her room). Then my husband and girls woke up to start off a beautiful Mother's Day. The girls finished their Mother's Day project and then made me breakfast - blueberry pancakes, eggs, and fried chicken. Hmmmm!! Then they gave me their mother's day gift (which I knew what one of them was since Mikayla can't hold water and told me about 2 hours after getting it) and then Delilah tells me what the other one was as she is handing me the bag. Daddy could only just sit back and laugh. I had a beautiful Mother's Day but isn't it Mother's Day everyday!! :-) As long as the family is around, I couldn't ask for more.

Just another day....

Caitlin finally started rolling over right after her 4 month birthday.  She is loving it and makes her enjoy tummy time even more now.
The girls are growing more and more in love with their baby sister!
And, of course, Delilah is more in love with her doggy too (hopefully she isn't allergic to dogs!!)

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

Happy 4 Month Birthday!

Yesterday was Caitlin's 4-month birthday. Wow! Can't believe she is already 4 months old. She went to the doctors today for her check up. She was 26 inches and basically 16 pounds (15 lbs 14 1/2 ounces).

Poor Caitlin had 5 shots today and yucky bruises on her legs and is continuing with Prevacid for her reflux, but other than that, she is a healthy, happy, chubby baby!!

A Moment In a Mother's Heart

Although my body is sick, my heart is full of joy as I watch my beautiful (even with their messy-hair) daughters doing their typical morning routine.

Caitlin sleeping peacefully on the couch... I try the crib at nap time but I think she enjoys the noise of her sisters and mommy.

Mikayla and Delilah playing with each other... here creating a Lite-Brite picture.

I think I know why I take so many pictures now - just trying to keep these memories alive even though they will never be the same!

Say A Little Prayer For Me....

When I got pregnant with Caitlin, I told Michael that as soon as I had the baby and doctor gave clearance, I would start training to walk a marathon again.  Well, it has been a hard and strenuous time to get the energy and time to do the long miles but the half-marathon time is drawing near.  I signed up for the American River Parkway half-marathon for this Saturday.  (The full marathon isn't till October) Check out the website and you can see the beautiful views I hope to enjoy on Saturday...

Now for the prayers... the girls are finally getting over a cold from over 2 weeks ago. Michael and I never caught it, however, just yesterday my body started feeling aches and this morning I woke up feeling like a truck hit me. So I am praying for my body to heal so I can walk 13.1 miles without feeling that I walked a full marathon. :-)

So my prayers have been answered.  I am on antibiotics to clear up my wonderful infection - MASTITIS.  I was hoping I would not get it but what do you expect when pumping day in and day out.  At least I knew the signs and that I have been getting rest otherwise it would have been 5 times worse and I would have been crawling on the ground like I did when I got it with Mikayla and Delilah as babies.

My doctor told me to rest for three days ... stating she would not want me to do the half-marathon.  However, I am taking it hour by hour.  I woke up today and feel wonderful actually.  I really think catching it when it just started as well as already getting a good 7 hours of sleep every night helped it from getting totally out of hand.  Only time (and God) will tell if I get up in the morning tomorrow and head out to conquer my 13.1 miles!
