Trying to Beat The Heat

With the past couple of days over 100 degrees, it is either the pool or inside play all day. Today around 10 am, while it was only 90 degrees, we went out to let the lil' Picasso's do some damage. Afterwards they rinsed off their paint while cooling off!

Next week is a big week for the girls. On Tuesday, they will get to see their baby brother/sister on the computer screen at the doctors when we go for our 20 week ultrasound. Then the next day, Wednesday, they start preschool. They already met their teachers and half the class this past Thursday. We are hoping they will continue to be excited!

Surprise Visit From Grandma Linda & Grandpa Wilson

On Sunday, the girls were pleasantly surprised with a visit from Grandma Linda & Grandpa Wilson (Scott's parents/Abby and Megan's grandparents). They stopped off at Old Sacramento to visit the Train Museum and took lots of touristy pictures.

The girls, as well as us, truly enjoyed their short visit with them before they head back tomorrow to LA. We will be sad to see them go and are very thankful for the surprise.

Trip To The State Fair

As soon as Daddy got home from work, we headed out to the State Fair. BIG MISTAKE! We know that next time when we go (which will be Tuesday), we will wait to leave around 6 pm. It was way too hot out there but at least they had lots of exhibits to walk through that kept us cool.

As soon as we got there, the girls started getting excited about the rides they were going to ride on but they had to wait because of the heat. They got to watch some dance troupes - one did Cinderella's songs so they loved that one. We went through Toytopia, which was an exhibit of all toys from way back in the day to now. They got to see an old Erector Set (that my brother had) as well as the old racecar tracks (which also my brother had and I would play with all the time). They loved seeing all the toys but it was hard since they couldn't touch. They also had a huge train set out. That kept them intrigued for some time.

Here, they get to take a miniature horse for a walk.

When it finally started to cool down, we let them get on some rides. And did they ever have fun! Mikayla is finally more daring to try things (with a little help from her sister).

Mikayla and Delilah going on their first roller coaster....

Here are our future weather reporters...

Going for a ride in the News 10 helicopter... (not really - just cardboard)

Delilah doing the bungie jump... She LOVED this!!

And surprisingly, so did Mikayla!!

Then they decided they wanted to go on the big slide... the scariest thing was watching them climb the long flight of stairs with Mikayla carrying the burlap bag!

And they are off....

And they landed!!

Here they are on the bee that they rode with adults last year cause they weren't big enough to ride by themselves... they are growing up so fast!! :-)

And the last ride of the day... another roller coaster. It was going SOO fast that I couldn't get a clear picture. Delilah already being the thrill seeker with her hands up.

Water Park Playdate and Dress Up

The other day, we took the girls to a water park and the girls (and Daddy) had fun playing.

Today was dress up day.... Nora and Michelle went to Hawaii and brought back the girls some hula outfits. They tried dancing but ended up hitting each other accidentally. They also got some possible Halloween costumes, Belle, but they are a little long. We'll see if they grow enough to wear them without tripping.

Delilah waiting for the Beast to turn into a prince....

Still Surviving

Things have been crazy around here and the house still isn't in order. Furniture is in the middle of the rooms, waiting for the baseboards to be done... but we finally got our bedroom in order once we moved the office desk in here. It is actually quite nice since I can be on the computer and look out both of our windows to the front yard. Relaxation in this crazy house!! :-)

We got our pictures back from our photographer. We love them! The girls smiles bring us so much joy. If anyone is interested in wonderful children's/babies photography - we highly recommend our photographer - Connie Cody Photography in Folsom, CA. We will be going back in November to do some maternity shots with the girls.

By the way - HAPPY BIRTHDAY to NANA and to Megan Blackwell (her 1st birthday)!

YEAH!! WE ARE BACK HOME!!

So Thursday, July 26th we packed up the house and left for a hotel for a week. We wanted to go somewhere fun but with Mike starting up school and having interviews this week as well as me having three doctors appointments during one week, we stayed here in Sacramento. We had our carpet ripped out and refinished the hardwood floors under them (except for in the dining room which had the lovely linoleum floor underneath - as shown in the pic below).

Here is a pic of the floor in the living room. The smell wasn't bad at all since they did a water-based finish instead of oil-based. But yuck - the dust was horrible and we cleaned all day yesterday!
During our week away from home, we had to say goodbye to our "sister" Neitra!! She moved back to Texas and her boyfriend, Terris, helped her with the long drive. We will miss her so much. We met her while the girls were in the hospital and had her be Delilah's primary nurse and ever since she became part of our family. Thank goodness for unlimited texting and long-distance!! Here is a pic of Neitra and Delilah.
Here is a pic of Terris and Mikayla. We are sad not to have had more time with Terris but we know he is such an awesome guy and glad that Neitra has a good man!!
Neitra getting good bye kisses from Kayla and Lilah! We love you Neitra!!
Before coming home, we took the girls to the Nimbus Fish Hatchery. In the below pictures, Mikayla and Delilah are sitting in very huge replicas of salmon eggs.
Here the girls are feeding the fish.

And now, we are back at home and getting ready for Daddy to go back to work on Monday. :-( Mommy starts a weekly shot tomorrow, hydroxyprogesterone. It is to help prevent preterm. The doc says the cervix is looking great so we are all hoping and praying for a long successful pregnancy and that the girls extra weight so early caused their preterm delivery. We know that God is protecting us as we see the miracles everyday as they come and wake us up in the morning!
