Caitlin's TK Field Trips

Caitlin's TK classroom has had a couple of field trips over the past month.  On one day, they went to the local market's flower department for a tour and a tutor of how to arrange flowers in a vase.  After that, we walked a few doors over to the pet store.  The kids had a blast.

Caitlin's class as well as a couple of siblings.

Each kid got to take a vase and a flower home - they were so excited.
Walking over to the pet store for the next tour.

A few weeks later, the kids went on a tour to our local post office.  They observed the process from writing a letter in class to buying the stamp and putting it into the mailbox - then to see where it goes from there.

They loved hanging out in the back of the mail truck
And they even got to honk the horn!

Valentine's Day 2013

The girls woke up to lots of love in their playroom.

Their love to me was emptying the dishwasher and making their own lunches for school!

For breakfast, we went to the local donut shop. Mmmmm.

And dinner was a heart pizza and some bubbly.  :-)

Super Bowl Sunday

What? You thought you were going to see pictures of Super Bowl snacks and people dressed in their 49ers gear sitting around watching the Super Bowl?  Nope - not here!  Sure I am a 49er fan but when the weather is beautiful and your daughters are begging to go to the river, how could one just sit on the couch and do otherwise.  So off we went with the dogs and the girls to the freezing American River - but only mama cared that it was cold - the three girls might as well worn swimsuits and Popcorn must have a wet suit on underneath her fur!

Only Caitlin dresses like she's a diva going on a hike.

Popcorn retrieving a stick

As you can see - they don't care they have pants on.

Playing in a fort near the river

It was a gorgeous day - even if the 49ers couldn't pull it off!

Mikayla and Delilah Turn 9

Wow! Who knew how fast 9 years could go by.  It seems like just yesterday these two little girls were fighting for their life in the NICU.  Now we are celebrating their 9th birthday and all the marvelous memories they have created in our lives.  Every other year is a birthday party - since they had a birthday party last year, this year is the family trip.

We didn't do a "family trip" in January as it is scheduled for later this year - but they were told of the destination - Hawaii!  Sadly, only 2/3 of the girls were excited to hear about the exciting trip.  The third one - our worry wart - turned herself into an ostrich and stuck her head into the couch for a good three minutes (literally).  I finally asked Mikayla why she isn't excited to go to Hawaii and she states "I hope we don't have to go deep sea diving!"  Really?  Where did that come from?  No one in this house has ever shown interest in wanting to go deep sea diving.  Our child just tries to find things to worry about. Needless to say, she is finally getting excited for Hawaii especially after seeing pictures of the volcanoes and rain forests.

So on their birthday, their besties came over to have dinner and cake with them.  It was an Angry Bird year - between hats that their cousins gave them, shirts that their daddy gave them and the cake - they loved their Angry Birds!!

Delilah and Mikayla - this is what 9 years of blessings look like

Angry Birds!! Thank you cousins Conor, Charles, Steve and Carol

The fabulous five

The weekend after their birthday, we did take them to a hotel to swim and hang out with friends.  They enjoyed relaxing in the hotel bed, watching DVDs with their buddies.  Delilah's eyes were very very irritated by the chlorine of the pool.

They were knocked out quickly after swimming and movies.

What a wonderful birthday - next year will be double digits - AAAAHH!!

Caitlin Turns 5 Years Old

We can't believe our little girl has turned 5!!  Seems like just yesterday we were welcoming her into this world on a very cold, windy, and rainy January day.  Well, needless to say - she was the happiest girl on her day.  She felt like a princess and the only tears shed were when the needles went through her ears (that was her birthday wish - to get her ears pierced).

Started as a normal day - waking up... but of course this day is waking up to balloons, princess tiara, and a boa.

Then...while waiting patiently on her daddy to make her breakfast of choice - grits, eggs, bacon and biscuits... she got a surprising phone call from Minnie Mouse.

After breakfast and spending some fun times with her sisters.. we headed to Claire's to get her ears pierced.  She was very brave... got a little nervous but then as soon as the guns went click - her face kinda froze and then a few tears came out.  After 30 seconds, she was good to go pick out some more earrings to wear when her ears healed.

After her ear piercing adventure, we headed to Chilis for her lunch of choice - chicken strips with pineapples!  Then back to home where she couldn't wait to open her presents and have birthday cake.  She was blessed with a wonderful birthday, thanks to many loved ones!

Her birthday cake was a Barbie doll.  Sums up Caitlin pretty much - she is very much a Barbie doll - she may look like a princess but can do anything she sets her mind to.

Now 10 more days till her older sisters birthday.  Pheww!!
