Papa's Visit in September

Papa came up to go fishing with Michael and the girls. During his visit, Michael was having to "payback" his students for doing an awesome job on the state test last year - he was getting pied in the face from students at his school. Poor Mikayla kept saying "that's not nice." She was concerned about her daddy.

When Papa came it was very hot but he was still able to catch some fish with Michael and they took the girls out Friday night before Papa had to leave the next day. The girls had a blast although Delilah was getting a little antsy for the fish to come.

State Fair 2009

On Tuesday (Kid's Day), we headed out to (what we thought) our one day at the State Fair. The girls got to ride some rides, Caitlin checked out the farm animals, and mommy got to have a delicious Zucchini Weiney (A zucchini with a hot dog in the center and dipped in corn dog batter) mmmmm!

Delilah and Mommy checking out county exhibits.
Mommy and the older girls went on the Giant Wheel (the biggest fair ferris wheel)
Daddy sucked it up so that the girls could go on the tilt-a-whirl

So after our long afternoon at the fair on Tuesday, we thought we were done, but a friend of ours gave us some unlimited ride wristbands and 2 free admissions to the fair so we HAD to go again! :-) (plus we had an extra one that I won off of Facebook). As we were walking into the fair, a lady offered us one of her tickets since her husband couldn't come - so we got all of us in for free. The girls had a blast riding every ride they could. They even went on some crazy spinning ride that I would have never went on (well maybe as a kid).

Big foot!!!
There was some wacky stuff at the fair this year... including walking peas.
The girls in front of the big candy mountain.
Delilah wasn't happy with the "smaller" swings... she had to go on the BIG swings (and as you see, Mikayla didn't!)
Caitlin's first pony ride and she LOVED it!
The owner of the fair rides bought a bunch of Neverland Ranch rides.
This is one that the girls are on...
The canoe ride the girls were forced to ride so Caitlin could go - but they loved it anyway.
Mikayla and Caitlin on the canoe.
The worm rollercoaster
The cool kite ride

This was the ride I would not have gone on... it spins in one area and the whole thing spins around and goes up and down and just way too much stuff going on! But the girls loved it.
A more calm ride - the helicopter
Riding the Lakers car.
The big slide - Mikayla takes the lead
We had a complete blast at the fair - we can't wait till next year!!

Labor Day Weekend 2009

We could not complain about the weather this Labor Day weekend - it was GORGEOUS!! In the high 80's! No sweltering heat like in the past. It is supposed to heat up this week but hopefully the girls will be feeling better so they can enjoy the pool for a couple more weeks before it is "closed" till next year.

We had a wonderful family Labor Day weekend. On Saturday, we went to the park and hung out around the house (playing Wii, board games, outside fun). Sunday, after church, we planned on going to the State Fair one more time but as we were driving up, the parking lot was packed and cars were line up out on the street to get in. We decided to pass and go on Monday - the last day of the fair. So we headed to Old Sacramento to Gold Rush days. It was packed there but parking was easy and the girls loved looking at boats along the river.

We arrived at the fair right when they opened and the girls got to ride at least 10 rides before lines even started to form. It was very nice, not crowded at all. When we were finally leaving, around 2 pm, it was becoming more crowded but still not even that bad. We probably would've stayed around longer but Caitlin was getting tired so off to get our free Chick-fil-a sandwich we went! :-)

On Friday night, the girls camped out in the playroom. They actually slept very good!

We watched as a real cannonball was prepared and shot. Very cool for Daddy and I but the girls thought it was too loud.
