Another Trip to the State Fair

The girls enjoyed the fair so much that we headed back as soon as Nana and Papa came up for Labor Day weekend.  It was so hot that weekend, we left at 9:30 am on Friday just so we could get there when they opened and Caitlin stayed at home with Nana and Papa.  This time we definitely spent more money but it still wasn't too bad.  It is just sad how quick $20 worth of ride tickets goes!!  We stayed for several hours and the girls had fun but were very excited to get home and jump in the pool!

I came home from doing some stuff at church and I found the girls camping in our living room with Nora.

The girls and Daddy - may the force be with you!!

Off To The State Fair We Go...

I must say that I am very impressed with my husband and my frugalness today!  We spent 4 1/2 hours at the California State Fair and spent $0!!!  You are probably wondering how we did that - did we stay in the parking lot the whole time?  Oh no no no.  It first started off by the girls receiving a 4 pack of tickets with parking pass from The Fish radio station.  Since the girls are under 5, they are still free so we only had to use 2 tickets and the parking pass.  Then there is a program called Read & Ride where if the kid reads 3 books and draws a picture for a summary, they get 3 free rides.  So we went and turned those in and the lady told us to go to another booth for one more free ride.  So we did.  That now made 4 rides for each of the girls.  Oh - and I forgot - on the way in to the fair, a man with his son asked if we were planning on going on any rides.  We said yes - and he handed over to us his fair card which holds the "tickets" for the rides.  He thought there was only 2 rides left but it turned out to be about 5 rides (2 for each girls - plus I went on one with them).

Now you are probably wondering about food.... well, they ate before we came plus we packed in my bag some in-n-out burgers that Michael bought earlier.  We had bottled water that we added the flavoring powder to and wah-lah.... the girls were happy and content and we didn't spend anything.  However, we are planning on going again and I think we will actually have to come out of pocket this time!!  :-)

I think Delilah caught herself something...

This years state fair theme is Hollywood - so there are lots of props and "staging" from shows like Jurassic Park, Cars, Pirates of the Carribean, Spongebob, etc...

The girls and Mader

The girls looking (but not understanding - thank goodness) at all the names on a floating sphere.  This is a memorial for 9/11 and all the names of the loved ones killed have been engraved on this granite sphere sent from Germany.

This is the girls 3rd year on this bee.  I think it might be their last unless they ride it with their baby sister when she gets bigger.

More pics to come next week after returning to the state fair for some petting zoo fun, more rides, and this time - some yummy fair food!!

Where are the dimples???

None there.....

Got a little something here...

Why you trying to hide yours....

There they are!!!!

Let's Go Fly A Kite

The weather was beautiful today... not too hot (upper 80's) and a little wind.  So we headed across the street with our Spongebob kite and the girls got to fly a kite.

Girls on their way to the school

Daddy getting the kite high to hand over to the girls

Mikayla running to keep the kite up

Delilah realizing that the wind will do the work for her

It was so fun but next time we will take out the Ms. Spiders kite too so they both have one - and watch the kites get jumbled up together!!

Swinging Baby

We put the girls old swing back up on the tree and Caitlin truly enjoyed it. The whole purpose of the swing, when we originally bought it, was to help Delilah with her sensory issues (she was diagnosed with SI - sensory integration) and always sought different sensations including constant swinging. We hadn't used this swing for a while since the girls got their swingset last year... but it is back up and swinging for Caitlin. Delilah felt like a big sister pushing her baby sister.

Off To Circus Circus and Boomtown

After a Monday of taking pictures of our littlest angel, we were off to pick up Nana from the airport on Tuesday morning and headed straight up to Reno. We were quite upset cause we thought Circus Circus would have a pool so that is why we stayed there... however, it didn't. The girls were sad but that went away as we hit the midway frequently and went to Boomtown, where they have several tiny rides and lots of games.
